米国等における人の移動ニーズに対応したサービスの新潮流

概要	タクシーに代表される人の個別的な移動ニーズに対応した自動車交通に係るサービス分野において，最近米国等で顧客と輸送手段とを簡便かつ効率的にマッチングすることを可能にする，IT技術を活用した新しいモビリティを提供するサービスが出現し，かなりの成長を見せている．この動きに対しては，利用者の支持を得る一方で，一部のサービスに対して既成運送秩序との摩擦も生じており，政策当局の対応も紆余曲折が見られるように，まだ解決すべき問題を抱えている．しかし，多様な人の移動ニーズにきめ細かく対応する新たなサービスの提供者の登場は，自動車交通分野におけるイノベーションとして積極的に評価できる．

Abstract	The recent developments in the U.S. and France of a new breed of personal road transportation service are studied, which utilizes the IT technologies and smart phone applications in particular to facilitate the efficient matching of a customer with a vehicle. Although regulatory bodies have been put in a delicate position, facing the harsh challenges from traditional taxi industries against some of the services, it should be noted that they make efforts to redefine regulations with a view to accommodating the innovation of the industry.
