The 14th International Conference of Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS) in Hiroshima was held from Sunday, September 12 to Tuesday, September 14, 2021 (fully online due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation).
A delegation from JTTRI Headquarters and the ASEAN-India Regional Office (AIRO: Bangkok, Thailand), including President Shukuri, participated in the conference and our researchers presented research results.
In addition, JTTRI awarded the "JTTRI Special Award" to the best paper in the field of public transport and mobility at the conference. Although the award ceremony was held online, Chairman Shukuri expressed his gratitude to Dr. Jaehok OH, President of EASTS, and all EASTS members for holding the international conference at Corona Permafrost, and congratulated the winners of the JTTRI Special Award.

■ Awarding the JTTRI Special Award
1.Purpose:
To support research activities in the field of public transport and to promote the expansion of the academic activities of EASTS, the JTTRI Special Award was presented by JTTRI to the best paper submitted to the EASTS International Conference in the target field.
A prize of US$1,000 will be awarded. The award was established at the previous 13th EASTS Colombo Conference (2019). This will be the second JTTRI award.

3.Evaluation method:
EASTS ISC will make the selection.
4.Title of the Awarded Paper and Recipient
"A Proposal of envelope theorem on the interactionbetween pedestrians and mobilities on urban roads
