Event Summary

In the lecture, Mr. Murao introduced the regeneration of the third-sector, Kitakinki Tango Railway connecting the northern Kyoto Pref. and the northern Hyogo Pref. which was tackled on the basis of the experience of the traffic demand management and mobility management measures that he practiced. He also gave a lecture on comprehensive town planning and transportation policy such as introduction of vertical separation method by net private companies, remodeling into attractive vehicles, making tourist area of Kyoto by the Sea, and formation of cooperative urban area consisting of 5 cities and 2 towns in northern Kyoto Pref., etc.

In the second half of the Q & A session, lively discussions were held, such as questions about human resource development for workers in the transportation field and regarding the background of the concept of "Kyoto by the Sea".
The seminar was successfully held with over 75 participants from research institutes such as universities, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, local governments, railway companies, other transportation companies, consultants, and general contractors.
