railways, civil aviation, road transport, maritime affairs, international affairs including the promotion of Japanese "quality infrastructure" to foreign countries and regions Since Mr. Yamakoshi joined the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) in 1992, he has held various positions in the fields of railway, civil aviation, road transport (buses, taxis, trucks), maritime affairs (shipping industry, shipbuilding, seamen), road administration and so forth. Especially, he has long been engaged in international affairs including the diplomatic negotiations with foreign governments and international organizations, the promotion of the expansion of Japanese “quality infrastructure” abroad as an official of the MLIT in charge, as an attaché (counsellor) of the Embassy of Japan and as an executive of a government-affiliated investment fund.
