Institute for Transport Policy Studies in Japan

What is now required, at this important time of determining our future is an institute proposing alternative policies on the basis of research and knowledge abstracted from both medium and long-term studies.
If individuals and administrative bodies discuss in depth policies proposed by such an institute, they will have a clearer comprehension of the process by which such plans are determined and the reasons for their adoption.
In the past, the criticsm has been made that these concepts have been said to be unclear and ill deflned, Their understanding is, Therefore essential if better policies are to be created and to receive nationwide endorsement and support.
The Institute for Transport Policy Studies (ITPS) was established in July 1995, with the following mandate in regard to transport services;
●Proposing policies
●Evaluating and analyzing the effects of policies
●Conducting research to obtain basic data for the above activities
