After graduating from Engineering School, the University of Tokyo, joined Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), and had been engaged in making energy policy, healthcare/bio-tech industry. Meanwhile, studied at the Graduate School of Political Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Also worked at Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism as Director of Tourism Economy. Designated as Vice Governor of Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. After leaving the government, joined Hitachi, Ltd., was engaged in integrating sustainability policy into business strategy to create social, environment, and economic values for Hitachi Group as Corporate Officer. Worked in Brussels to promote government relations and sustainability actions in Europe as the Head of Brussels Branch, Hitachi Europe.
